Gretchen Pleshaw Hooper is an award-winning broadcast journalist, television host, radio personality, and interviewer with nearly two decades of experience connecting with audiences through compelling, personality-driven storytelling.
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Gretchen spent approximately a decade in Vail, Colorado, where she built her television career as a lifestyle and morning-show host. She also spent eight years in radio, including hosting an award-winning afternoon show on KKCH The Lift FM.
After relocating to Dothan, Alabama, Gretchen expanded her journalism background as a television news reporter with WTVY News 4, covering community issues, agriculture, education, health, human-interest stories, and breaking local developments.
Known for her warm interviewing style, natural on-camera presence, and ability to make guests feel comfortable, Gretchen specializes in lifestyle, community, business, and personality-focused storytelling. Her experience across television, radio, news, and social media gives her a unique ability to create engaging interviews that feel polished without losing authenticity.
Gretchen is the creator and host of Gretchen on the Go, creating lifestyle and social-media interview content that helps businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, and interesting personalities tell their stories in a memorable and engaging way.
Outside of broadcasting, Gretchen is passionate about animal rescue and volunteering with shelters. She lives in Alabama with her husband, Chris Hooper, and their four dogs, three of whom are rescues.
